My husband and I made the decision to move from Toronto to Kelowna in early summer last year. As first time homebuyers, we needed someone who was not only knowledgeable and trustworthy, but also patient enough to guide us through the process. Since we were (are) still in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, we had made the difficult decision to try to buy remotely. We contacted Joel after hearing great things about him through word of mouth and online reviews. He was able to accommodate us without a problem. He got back to us quickly and set up an initial consultation via video chat. Using the listing portal he set up for us, he flagged properties that met our needs and budget, often catching listings we missed on our own. He was very honest about what he thought of certain properties, but we never felt pressure of any kind to make a particular decision. He answered all our questions thoroughly and was quick to respond via text, email, or phone when we needed him. He was very knowledgeable about the areas of town we were interested in and what neighborhoods might suit us best. Showings were done by video chat. Joel was very quick to move when we were interested in a property. He made appointments as soon as was possible and let us know right away what the offers were. Again, we never felt any pressure to make an offer we weren't completely comfortable with. When we finally pulled the trigger and made an offer on our house, he made sure we understood important dates and documents that needed to be submitted. He looked over all the paperwork thoroughly, and accommodated us when we needed to make some changes part way through. Electronic submission of documents was easy and secure. Joel was also present for the inspection of the house (again via video). By fall we were moving to our new home! Our family opted to drive rather than fly. When we arrived late and Joel was not able to meet us at the house as planned, he let us know how to access the house. When we got inside we found groceries and basic household supplies waiting for us in the kitchen. He and his wife very thoughtfully provided us with many of the things we would need for the first few days so we wouldn't need to go shopping right away (pandemic precautions). He even dropped by around Christmas to deliver a small gift and greet the family in person. Such a personal touch! My husband and I were beyond happy to have Joel as our realtor. He is thoughtful, friendly, thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a real estate agent in the Kelowna area. You won't regret it!
